Minister: Russia’s sugar exports may soar to 200,000 tns ‘16
MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to raise sugar exports to 200,000 tonnes in 2016, from about 8,000 tonnes in 2015, Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachyov told reporters on Tuesday.
“We forecast that about 200,000 tonnes of sugar will be exported at the end of the season. For comparison, Russia sold 8,000 tonnes of sugar over the previous year, which means growth by dozens of times!” Tkachyov said.
“Positive trends of Russian food exports are maintained – it has exceeded U.S.$10.8 billion since the start of the year.”
